Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils in Key Stage 1?

A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Waltham Forest is seeking a proactive Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP, supporting pupils’ learning, development and progress within a vibrant classroom environment.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will provide classroom support, help deliver engaging learning activities and work with pupils individually and in small groups to reinforce key concepts. You will play an important role in developing pupils’ confidence, encouraging positive behaviour and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive as they progress through Key Stage 1.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Year 2 Teaching Assistant

  • Support teaching and learning across a Key Stage 1 classroom

  • Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and activities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to reinforce learning

  • Assist with phonics, reading, writing and mathematics

  • Encourage positive behaviour, participation and classroom engagement

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development

  • Help create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Full-time, long-term opportunity

  • Term-time only

  • £105-£115 per day

  • Located in Waltham Forest

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable

  • A strong understanding of Key Stage 1 learning and development

  • Confident supporting pupils with reading, writing and mathematics

  • Able to work effectively alongside the class teacher and wider school team

  • Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic, with a proactive approach

  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills

  • Reliable, engaging and passionate about helping children succeed
