A successful Secondary School in Tower Hamlets is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their support team on a long-term basis.

This role is ideal for a confident, caring and experienced individual who has previously supported pupils with additional needs and is comfortable assisting with personal and intimate care where required.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold a valid Manual Handling / Moving & Handling certificate and must also be degree educated.

SEN Teaching Assistant – The Role

  • SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Full-time, Monday – Friday

  • Supporting pupils across the school
  • 1:1 and small-group SEN support
  • General classroom Teaching Assistant duties
  • Supporting with personal and intimate care
  • Assisting pupils with physical and additional needs
  • Working alongside Teachers, SENCOs and support staff

SEN Teaching Assistant – Person Specification

  • Degree essential
  • Manual Handling / Moving & Handling certificate essential
  • Previous Teaching Assistant, SEN or Learning Support experience
  • Comfortable carrying out intimate and personal care
  • Confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
  • Patient, calm and resilient
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term role
