A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Camden is urgently seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist ASD provision, supporting pupils with additional needs on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Autism and understands the importance of patience, consistency and individualised care. You will work closely with pupils throughout the school day, helping them access learning, develop communication and social skills, and build independence in a structured and nurturing environment.

The role will involve an element of personal care, so candidates must be comfortable supporting pupils with their personal care needs as part of their daily routine.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Support pupils with Autism and additional learning needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support with learning, communication and social development
  • Assist pupils with emotional regulation and daily classroom routines
  • Support independence and personal development
  • Provide personal care when required, including intimate care where applicable
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEN team
  • ASAP Start
  • Long-term / Term Time Only
  • £110 – £130 per day
  • Located in Camden

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is essential
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism is highly desirable
  • Comfortable and willing to provide personal care as part of the role
  • Patient, nurturing and emotionally resilient
  • Confident supporting pupils with communication, sensory and behavioural needs
  • Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting children’s individual needs
  • A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs thrive
