A leading Secondary School in Tower Hamlets is searching for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will work with pupils who require additional academic, physical and personal support throughout the school day.

You will need to be confident carrying out general Teaching Assistant duties as well as assisting pupils with intimate and personal care.

For safeguarding and pupil-support reasons, a valid Manual Handling / Moving & Handling certificate is an essential requirement for this position.

Learning Support Assistant – Candidate Requirements

  • Degree educated – essential

  • Manual Handling / Moving & Handling certificate – essential

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, LSA or SEN TA

  • Experience supporting pupils or young people with additional needs

  • Comfortable providing personal and intimate care

  • Confident supporting pupils with physical needs

  • Calm and patient approach

  • Professional and reliable

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Able to commit to a long-term position
