A high-achieving and ambitious Secondary School in Tower Hamlets is searching for an Economics Academic Mentor to join their outstanding team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a strong academic background to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting students in one of the school’s most popular and successful subject areas.

As an Economics Academic Mentor, you will support students across KS4 and KS5, delivering targeted interventions, leading small group sessions and helping students develop their understanding of Economics and related social science subjects. Working closely with experienced teachers, you will play a key role in raising attainment and building students’ confidence both inside and outside of lessons.

This role is particularly well suited to an aspiring Economics Teacher, Lecturer or education professional looking to gain meaningful experience within a high-performing secondary school.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Economics Academic Mentor
  • Supporting students across KS4 & KS5
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group intervention sessions
  • Supporting students with Economics coursework, exam preparation and subject knowledge
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and learning resources
  • Providing academic mentoring and study support
  • Supporting students to achieve their target grades and university aspirations
  • Full-time / Term-Time Only
  • September 2026 Start
  • £105 – £120 per day
  • Located in Tower Hamlets

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Must hold a 1st Class or 2:1 degree in Economics or a related subject from a reputable university
  • Strong academic background throughout education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident supporting students with challenging academic content
  • Passionate about education and student achievement
  • Positive, proactive and professional approach
  • Aspiring Economics Teacher, Lecturer or education professional
