A fantastic Secondary School in Tower Hamlets, East London is looking for confident and experienced Teaching Assistants to join their support team on a long-term basis.

The school is looking for degree-educated Teaching Assistants who are confident carrying out general classroom support duties while also supporting pupils who require intimate/personal care.

Due to the needs of the pupils, you MUST already hold a valid Manual Handling / Moving & Handling certificate to be considered for this role.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider support team to ensure pupils are fully supported both academically and with their individual care needs.

Teaching Assistant – Person Specification

  • Degree required – essential
  • Previous Teaching Assistant / Learning Support / SEN experience
  • Valid Manual Handling / Moving & Handling certificate – essential
  • Must be confident providing intimate/personal care
  • Comfortable supporting pupils with additional and physical needs
  • Caring, patient and proactive
  • Confident working independently and as part of a wider support team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term role
