Are you a high-achieving Graduate with a strong academic record looking to work within education?

A fantastic Secondary School in Southend-On-Sea are searching for ambitious Academic Mentors to join their team from September 2026.

The school are particularly interested in graduates with excellent GCSEs, A Levels and Degree results who can act as positive academic role models for pupils.

You will support pupils across the curriculum, working both inside and outside the classroom to improve attainment, confidence and engagement.

What will you do as an Academic Mentor?

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group academic intervention
  • Support pupils across your strongest academic subjects
  • Deliver booster and revision sessions
  • Support pupils who require additional academic guidance
  • Stretch and challenge higher-achieving pupils
  • Assist with study skills, organisation and revision techniques
  • Work closely with Teachers and Heads of Department
  • Act as a positive academic role model

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 Degree strongly preferred
  • Strong GCSE and A Level results
  • Excellent academic background
  • Confident and articulate
  • Strong literacy and numeracy
  • Passionate about education
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Aspiring Teachers and education professionals welcomed
