Are you an academically strong English Graduate looking to gain hands-on experience within a Secondary School?
A fantastic Secondary School in Southend-On-Sea are looking for a talented English Tutor to join their team for a September 2026 start. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity paying £110 – £120 per day, ideal for a graduate considering a future career in teaching, education or academia.
You will work closely with the English Department, supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 and helping to raise attainment through targeted academic intervention.
What will you do as an English Tutor?
- Provide 1:1 and small-group English tuition
- Support pupils across English Language and English Literature
- Deliver targeted intervention sessions
- Support GCSE pupils with exam preparation, essay writing and revision
- Work alongside experienced English Teachers
- Stretch and challenge higher-attaining pupils
- Provide classroom support where required

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- English Graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 Degree preferred
- Strong GCSE and A Level results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature
- Confident supporting pupils academically
- Aspiring English Teachers strongly encouraged to apply
- Previous tutoring, mentoring or school experience desirable but not essential
