SEN Teaching Assistant

A welcoming and well-established Primary School Federation in Lambeth is looking to recruit several SEN Teaching Assistants to join its supportive Inclusion teams from September.

With multiple vacancies available, the school can offer opportunities within both specialist high-needs provisions and mainstream classrooms, making this an excellent role for graduates, aspiring teachers, educational psychologists or experienced Teaching Assistants looking to develop their SEN expertise.

Depending on your experience and interests, you will either support pupils within a dedicated high-needs provision, helping children with complex learning needs access a highly personalised curriculum, or work within mainstream classrooms providing targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Multiple vacancies available across specialist provisions and mainstream classrooms
  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), Speech & Language needs, ADHD and a range of additional learning needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group interventions
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENDCos and external professionals
  • Full-time, term-time only
  • September start
  • £105 – £120 per day
  • Located in Lambeth

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • A graduate (2:1 or above preferred) or an experienced Teaching Assistant
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEND
  • Calm, patient and resilient with excellent communication skills
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
