1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

A prestigious Independent Prep School in Camden is looking to recruit several 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to join its exceptional Inclusion team this September.

These roles involve supporting pupils across Reception to Year 3 with Autism (ASC) and varying Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Each child has individual strengths and learning profiles, so the school is looking for patient, proactive and nurturing individuals who can build positive relationships and adapt their support to meet each pupil’s needs.

Working alongside experienced class teachers, the SEND team and external specialists, you will help pupils access learning, develop confidence, improve communication skills and successfully integrate within the classroom environment.

One of the roles also offers the opportunity to work closely with an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, giving you the chance to observe specialist interventions, receive tailored training and develop invaluable skills for a future career in education or therapy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 3
  • Working with children with Autism (ASC) and Speech, Language & Communication Needs
  • Supporting pupils within mainstream classrooms
  • Delivering personalised academic, social and emotional support
  • Using visual resources, communication strategies and structured routines
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals
  • Opportunity to receive specialist Speech & Language training
  • Full-time, term-time only
  • September start
  • £105 – £120 per day
  • Located in Camden

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • A graduate with a strong academic background (2:1 or above preferred) or an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Passionate about supporting children with Autism and additional needs
  • Patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience supporting children is desirable but not essential
